You Need To Go Home

A few weeks ago, I uncovered the reason behind my instinct to fill every inch of paper or canvas, leaving no room for blank spaces to breathe in my abstract paintings. Understanding this impulse became the key to deciphering the essence of my work.

I transitioned gradually from vibrant color to black and white, and in that shift, I discovered something profound—absence of color soothes my soul and balances my mind. Yet, through this process, I also realized the importance of space. Allowing room to exist within the composition is essential for fluidity, growth, and evolution—not just as an artist, but as a person. Overcrowding the surface had been mirroring internal chaos, creating a sense of tension and suffocation within me.

A blank canvas or sheet of paper, by itself, is nothing—just a lifeless material. But the moment I make a mark, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, that act becomes deeply human. It is the purest abstract gesture, a declaration: I am here, standing before you in my rawest vulnerability. That first mark is not just paint on a surface; it is an energy that comes alive, expanding, demanding more. It sets everything in motion.

From that point on, every stroke, every shape, every line ceases to be random. It becomes a protagonist, calling for more energy, more interaction. The space between these marks is not emptiness—it is rhythm, vibration, and the very breath of the composition. This is where my work finds its true meaning, and where I feel entirely fulfilled.
